AssureCare has appointed Brian Litten executive vice president of growth and commercialization, adding a healthcare technology executive with experience across payer, provider and pharmacy markets.

Litten joins as AssureCare looks to expand its presence with health plans, health systems and pharmacies. He will help lead the company's commercial strategy as healthcare organizations face pressure to coordinate care for more complex patient populations while improving clinical and operational results.

His appointment puts a veteran healthcare executive in a senior growth role at a company whose platform supports more than 60 million lives, according to AssureCare. The business sells population health management technology to health plans, government agencies, providers, pharmacies and community organizations.

Litten brings more than three decades of healthcare experience. He previously built the payer and provider market business at Tabula Rasa HealthCare and contributed directly to the company's Nasdaq initial public offering in 2016.

He has also led national commercial teams and developed market strategies across payer, provider and pharmacy organizations. That background aligns with the areas AssureCare is targeting as it seeks wider adoption of its technology in a fragmented healthcare market.

Market focus

The leadership change comes as healthcare groups face rising demands to share information and manage patients with chronic conditions and complex medical needs across multiple settings. Vendors in the sector have sought to position themselves around more connected care pathways, particularly where insurers, clinicians and pharmacies need to work from the same information.

AssureCare says its system is designed to connect those parts of the market in one platform, using data and artificial intelligence to support care management and member engagement. The platform is used to digitize care processes and support both clinical and financial performance.

Yousuf Ahmad, president and chief executive officer of AssureCare, said Litten's commercial experience and focus on patient outcomes made him the right choice for the role.

"Brian has a rare combination of qualities - he understands the commercial mechanics of these markets and he genuinely cares about what happens at the end of the care chain," said Yousuf Ahmad, president and chief executive officer of AssureCare.

"That combination is exactly what our clients need from a partner right now. The organizations we serve are accountable for real outcomes for real people, and Brian is the kind of leader who never loses sight of that. There's no one better positioned to lead us through this next stage of growth," Ahmad said.

Career background

Litten's career has focused on businesses serving the operational side of healthcare delivery and payment. His experience spans the payer, provider and pharmacy segments, which are increasingly expected to coordinate around high-need patients, medication management and long-term conditions.

That background may prove relevant as healthcare technology suppliers face tougher scrutiny from customers over whether their systems reduce administrative friction and improve patient access to services. For population health companies, growth often depends on showing that data can move between the different organizations involved in a person's care.

Litten described that challenge in explaining his decision to join the company.

"The throughline across my career has been a belief that healthcare works best when the people building it understand both sides - the complexity of the system and the real person on the other side of it," said Brian Litten, executive vice president of growth and commercialization at AssureCare.

"AssureCare is doing something other platforms in this space are not: connecting payer, provider and pharmacy in a single system, with the data and AI to act on what that connection makes visible. Success in this work looks like a health plan member who gets the right care at the right time without having to fight for it - and a care team with the tools to deliver that instead of working around a broken system. I'm proud to join a team that builds for exactly that outcome," Litten said.

AssureCare is part of the Vora Ventures portfolio. Its customer base includes public and private sector healthcare organizations, reflecting a market where demand for coordinated care tools extends beyond commercial insurers and hospital groups to agencies and community-based providers.

The appointment reflects a broader trend of healthcare technology companies recruiting executives with direct experience in both market development and care delivery operations. As buyers ask vendors to address cost pressures and service fragmentation at the same time, companies are increasingly turning to leaders who have worked across the commercial and clinical sides of the industry.

For AssureCare, the hire signals an effort to deepen its reach in markets where technology purchasing decisions often involve long sales cycles, regulatory complexity and the need to prove value across several parts of the healthcare system. Litten's track record in building payer and provider business lines gives the company experience in that kind of environment.

AssureCare says its platform supports more than 60 million lives through care management, analytics and engagement tools.
